Alex S. a seasoned hairstylist and owner of Switchblade Salon. Passionate about creating a safe and celebratory space for the community.

The space

Switchblade salon was established in 2005 by original owner Melinda Crick. After 25 years Melinda decided to hang her hat as a salon owner and stylist to follow her passion in real estate at her new home town in Northern Arizona.

Alex and Melinda met in 2022 which led to Alex taking the reins as the owner of Switchblade.

Alex and Van’s mission is to uphold the legacy of Switchblade: continuing the success of being a staple in the LGBTQA community in Phoenix.
